Olaf has been working as a lawyer since the beginning of 2004. Since then he has focused on insurance and liability law.

In his practice Olaf advises in both civil and arbitration proceedings on issues in the field of business liability, professional liability (lawyers, insurance agents, bailiffs and estate agents), fire (recovery) and technical insurances. He furthermore assists Dutch and non-resident insurers on (complex) cover disputes and in fraud-related cases.

Olaf publishes and lectures regularly.

Olaf completed the Grotius Academy post-graduate programme Enterprise and Liability in 2011. He is also a member of the Vereniging voor Verzekeringswetenschap (Dutch Association of Insurers), Vereniging voor Aansprakelijkheids- en Schadevergoedingsrecht (Dutch Association for Liability and Compensation Law), Rotterdamse Beurs Brand Club (RBBC) en Cobra 1998 (Rotterdam Association for fire insurance for persons within the fire co-insurance market).
